Natural silk is a fiber
obtained from cocoons developed by silk`s caterpillars. This silk
worm is not a worm. It is a caterpillar. Only silk
butterfly's caterpillar, that is fed with mulberry leafs, can
produce a real silk cocoon. Also, some nearby species that eat
mulberry can be used for production of native silk. Cocoons are
exposed to water vapor, allowing fiber's splitting. Finally cocoons
are twisted in between them, forming the silk thread.
